Devlog #2 Art
This is going to be a short post about how I did the art for this and the decisions I've come to, admittedly I have found that I did not have as much time as I thought I had and didn't manage it well enough so I don't have much to show for it, nor do I have a build incorporating it.
When starting to think about the art I thought about doing lineart similar to Cult of the Lamb or the Binding of Isaac, unfortunately I found that to be a bit harder than I thought and moved onto Pixel art similar to the style of Enter the Gungeon. I am finding this easier to do as it allows for less "perfection" in the art of which I have issues with. I think that also helps with the vibe of the game as it makes for a more cartoony appearance.
At first I was going to use Clip Studio Paint for the art but upon finding a... free version I decided to go with Aesprite which is specifically built for pixelart game design. Going forward I plan on better managing my time and work ethic as well as giving myself leniency as my need for the art to be perfect to my vision definitely didn't help while making this.
